While it’s nice outside, why not walk off those pounds by getting into the habit of taking a stroll once a day? Fitsugar has offered these tips on how to walk properly — it’s something you learned early in life but might need a refresher on if you’re going to be doing i t more often. Here’s what they recommend:

  • Look straight ahead, not at the ground
  • Maintain good posture
  • Allow your hips to swivel naturally
  • Tighten your abs
  • Keep wrists straight
  • Walk in a straight line
  • Wear proper walking shoes
  • Challenge yourself by walking fast
