3 Tips To Achieving The Pilates Body

If you really want to make a hot Pilates body your reality rather than your dream, there are three very important steps that you must take to get there. Remember, nothing good ever comes for free!

First of all, there are quite a few ways to learn Pilates. If money and time are of issue you can purchase DVDs and start learning the moves in your own home. This is a great idea for anyone who is overweight or otherwise very uncomfortable walking into a class with other people.

If you want to learn from home and can afford to spend a little more, you may want to purchase Pilates equipment that is designed for home use. This is the way Pilates is really meant to be performed, though DVDs offer very effective variations on the moves without the equipment.

If you prefer to have the skilled instruction of a trainer who knows what they are doing, then check around for a studio in your area. The classes offered will start from whatever level you are on right now and ensure you get great results.

You could also find classes through a local gym and pay a little less.

Whichever way you go, pay attention to these three critical steps as you start learning the moves.

First of all, you must make sure that you are using proper form and doing each move correctly. The results that Pilates delivers depend greatly on working the correct muscles in a certain way, and often in a certain order. If you want real results then learning proper form is extremely important.

When working out at home, consider sitting down and watching your DVD before you actually attempt the moves. This will allow you to get an idea for the correct form without straining to see the screen from the floor. If you are lucky enough to be taking classes, then your instructor will be able to help with form a lot.

Second, consistency is very important. You cannot do this type of exercise every once in awhile and get the body you desire. It takes consistent work to form a great body. Dont expect results overnight, but give it all your effort at least three to four times a week and you will definitely start to see changes.

Finally, you must continually progress to more difficult moves and/or longer sessions to get great results. When you do the same moves over and over your body becomes less challenged and must work less to perform them. You will start to see less results when this happens.

It is important to change things up before this happens. Go with a harder DVD or start attempting the harder variations presented. If you are going to a class look for more advanced sessions or go to different classes with different instructors to get a good variety.

It is entirely possible for anyone who gives it serious effort to achieve the Pilates body they are dreaming about. If you really want to commit to making it happen as fast as possible, watch what you are eating and combine these workouts with as much cardio exercise as you can make time for.
